Warrants issued for man wanted in connection to death in Beltline alley

Police have issued Canada-wide warrants for Rory Martin Stevens.

Police continue to investigate the death of a man who was found in an alleyway in the Beltline and have issued warrants for the arrest of a 42-year-old man in connection to the case.

Officers were called out to reports of a disturbance in the 700 block of 12th Avenue SW at about 11:15 p.m. on Sunday, October 11, 2015.

When they arrived, they discovered a man dead in an alley and say they believe he met another man and an altercation took place.

The victim was robbed of his bag and police believe the attack was targeted and that drugs may have played a role.

The victim has been identified as Christopher Stephen Tooley, 33, of Calgary.

On Tuesday, Canada-wide warrants were issued for Rory Martin Stevens, 42, for manslaughter and robbery and police say he may be in Ontario.

Stevens is described as:

  • Caucasian
  • About 185 cm or 6’1” tall
  • 77 Kg or 170 pounds
  • Brown hair
  • Brown eyes
